Nepal is divided into 14 administrative zones (anchal) and 77 districts (jilla).
The administrative zones, by development regions and from east to west, are the following
- Mahakali, Karnali, Dhawalagiri, Gandaki , Bagmati, Mechi, Koshi, Sagarmatha, Janakpur, Narayani, Lumbini, Rapti, Bheri, Seti,.
Province 1
There are altogether 14 districts in province 1.
Province 2
There are total 8 districts in province 2 and the capital is Janakpur.
Province 3
There are total 13 districts in province no 3 and the capital is Hetauda.
Province 4
There are 11 districts in province no 4 and the capital is Pokhara.
Province 5
There are total 12 districts in province no 5 and the capital is Butwal.
Province 6
There are total of 10 districts and capital is Birendranagar.
Province 7
There are total 9 districts in province 7 and capital is Dhangadi.
